Medical Billing & Coding Training Course
The Medical Billing and Coding program prepares students to work as entry-level medical billing specialists. Students receive training in standard medical procedure coding, insurance, reimbursements, healthcare standards, and information storage and retrieval systems. People who complete this program may seek entry-level employment in physician’s offices, clinics, laboratories, hospitals, group practices, specialty practices, health insurance offices, and nursing homes. The program helps prepare and encourages students to sit for a certification examination.
Students receive training on the major systems of the human body, including Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscular, and Gastrointestinal; pharmacology; pathology; medical office systems; medical coding; and medical insurance billing.
A Certificate of Completion in Medical Billing and Coding prepares you for jobs in physician’s offices, clinics, laboratories, hospitals, specialty practices, insurance offices, and outsourced billing companies. As a critical team member for the financial cycle of healthcare providers, from single-provider practices through large medical centers, the profession requires attention to detail with electronic and paper systems used in billing services.
