Miller-Motte College Augusta to Launch New Electrical Certificate Program

AUGUSTA, GA (March 4, 2025)Miller-Motte College (MMC) Augusta is proud to announce the upcoming launch of its Electrical certificate program.

The program will begin March 17, 2025, with enrollment available on a rolling basis every five weeks. Students can complete the program in as little as 10 months. The Electrical program focuses on developing skills and knowledge to work in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical settings. Students are trained to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems safely.

Dr. Chandra Johnson, Executive Director at Miller-Motte College Augusta, is thrilled to announce the launch of the campus’ new program. “By introducing this program at the Augusta campus, we demonstrate our commitment to helping individuals succeed in the trade industry and to keeping our communities powered,” Johnson said. “I anticipate significant interest from new and former students in this certificate. We are eager to assist in preparing students for successful careers in the electrical industry.”

The Electrical program utilizes curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), the leading provider of construction education for industry and career and technical education programs. As students progress through their MMC classes, they will complete NCCER knowledge based exams and hands-on competencies to earn verifiable industry-recognized credentials that do not expire. Compared to the two to four years a more traditional employer and/or union based apprenticeship could take, Electrical students can earn up to three NCCER achievement certificates, throughout the 10 month program.

“The skilled trades are the foundation of our communities and country,” said Jennifer Wilkerson, VP of Innovation at NCCER. “We are proud to partner with Ancora and Miller-Motte College as they continue to expand access to industry-recognized credentials and practical training in Electrical, HVAC/BR, and beyond. These programs provide students with the skills and confidence for long-term career success while strengthening the local workforce and economy with highly trained professionals ready to make an impact from day one.”

Miller-Motte College is a network school of Ancora Education, a leading workforce solutions provider addressing America’s labor gaps through innovative and technology-driven educational programs.
