Miller-Motte College in Tulsa to Launch Certified Nursing Assistant Program

Tulsa, OK – (January 7, 2025) Ancora Education, a leading workforce training and solutions provider has announced its Miller-Motte College campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma is adding to its skilled trades offerings with the launch of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program on January 6, 2025.

MMC’s CNA program is a five-week program designed to prepare students for an entry-level position in various long-term care settings as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the healthcare community as outlined in the state administrative code, as well as the Federal Code (42 CFR § 483.152).

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will have the ability to perform basic nursing skills proficiently, think critically, and communicate effectively within the Certified Nurse Assistant Scope of Practice. After successfully completing the written and skills state licensing exam, graduates can work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide skilled nursing care to selected patients.

The Certificate of Completion in Certified Nursing Assistant is approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Graduates of this state-approved program are eligible to apply to take the Nursing Assistant Test, which will include both written and skill assessments. Applicants must meet all state and federal requirements to hold an Oklahoma certification to be placed on the Nurse Aide Registry.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics approximates the overall employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 4 percent from 2023 to 2033 and about 216,200 openings for nursing assistants are projected each year, on average, over the decade.

“At Miller-Motte College Tulsa, we are deeply committed to equipping our students with the skills to succeed in today’s dynamic job market, said Julio Socorro, Executive  Director of Miller-Motte College Tulsa. “By expanding our program offerings, we are not only addressing the growing demand for healthcare professionals but also providing our students with invaluable opportunities to make a meaningful impact in their communities. We believe this new program will empower our students with the practical skills and knowledge to excel in the healthcare industry, fostering both personal and professional growth.
