Miller-Motte® College Jacksonville’s Electrical Program Receives Approval By North Carolina State Approving Agency to offer Veterans’ Education Benefits

JACKSONVILLE, NC – (August 15, 2024) — Ancora Education, a leading workforce solutions provider, has announced Miller-Motte College (MMC) campus in Jacksonville, North Carolina, is approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency to offer Veterans education benefits in its Electrical program.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, in June 2024, the veteran unemployment rate was 2.9%, up from 2.7% from last year. There are 196,0000 military service members* who transition to civilian life each year, and 8.8 million military veterans in the U.S. civilian labor force.**

Located on the North Carolina coast, MMC’s Jacksonville campus is located near five military bases, including Camp LeJeune, Marine Corps Air Station New River and Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg. The North Carolina SAA approval opens funding opportunities to more Veterans and/or eligible beneficiary individuals looking to pursue their trade education.

MMC’s Electrical program prepares students for an entry-level position in the residential and commercial electrical field. With combined classroom-style education and hands-on learning, the program can be completed in 10 months.

“We will continue to work with the North Carolina State Approving Agency to make programs at our campus eligible for funding options,” says Amber Borrego, MMC Jacksonville Executive Director. “We are committed to providing skilled trades education to more students, benefiting our communities long term through the knowledge of lifelong technical skills.”

In 2023, there were 101 enrolled military veterans at MMC Jacksonville. Other MMC programs approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency to offer Veterans education benefits include Medical Clinical Assistant and CDL Training: Class A Tractor Trailer.
