Miller-Motte College To Launch New IT Program Online

MMC will now offer online IT diploma program to help those considering post-secondary education gain industry-valuable credentials

Chattanooga, TN – (October 22, 2024) — Ancora Education, a leading workforce solutions provider, announced their network school Miller-Motte College (MMC) will launch a PC & Network Support Technician diploma program on Nov. 18, as part of its online offerings.

The college hopes that the launch of the 50-week program, offered online-only, with coursework available 24/7, will inspire those who may have never considered post-secondary education to gain some industry-valuable credentials to work successfully in the IT/tech field.

“The goal of the PC & Network Support Technician program is to prepare students to function as entry-level members of an IT support team,” said Joe Mowery, Vice President of Online Operations for Ancora. “We hope graduates will seek careers as information technology specialists, computer technicians, help desk analysts, or network technicians.”

Mowery said students receive an introduction to the daily maintenance, support, and performance of computer systems, effective communication skills with vendors and technicians, record-keeping of help desk ticketing tasks, the development of training materials, procedures, and training techniques in the proper use of hardware or software, and the installation and performing of minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment.

The program offers a “stackable” opportunity for those students who may not be able to commit to a full associate or bachelor’s degree. They can begin with the PC & Network Support Technician diploma with a reduced time commitment. They can then decide

whether they want to return to complete their associate and/or bachelor’s degree at a discounted rate and an accelerated timeline.

The PC and Network Support Technician program “stacks” into the Associate of Applied Science IT Support Specialist program as well as the following bachelor’s degree programs: Computer Science, Cloud Computing, IT Management, Data Management, Software Development, Network Ops & Security.

Students will prepare to take three certification exams during the PC & Network Support Technician program available through the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). Vouchers will be available for the following:

●  CompTIA A+ Exam Vouchers upon completion of INT1112

●  CompTIA Linux+ Exam Voucher upon completion of INT1131

●  CompTIA Network+ Exam Voucher upon completion of INT1151

Mowery said successful completion of these exams will help the student demonstrate their knowledge and skills required to support today’s digital world.

Enrollment for the program is open now. For more information on the PC & Network Support Technician program or to arrange an interview with Joe Mowery, please contact Silver Hogue at silver.hogue@hck2.com or call 214-697-3113.
